Dear Colleagues

We cordially invite you to participate in the 24th EMMA-Post IMW 2021 virtual meeting to be held online next October 1st and 2nd.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and with the aim of guarantee health and safety of our attendees and faculty members we have made the decision to keep the Madrid edition as a virtual format this year, as well.

Since the 18th International Myeloma Workshop (IMW) will be held in September in Vienna, it can be a unique opportunity to have the EMMA as a Post-IMW summary, as we already did successfully in the year 2019, for those physicians that will not attend the Workshop.

As usual, this exciting program consisting of a mix between formal presentations, workshops and roundtable discussions is willing to achieve close interaction among participants and speakers, nearly each plenary session will be followed by 15-20 minutes of experts’ discussion about the most important questions regarding each plenary topic. Questions can be sent by chat to the chair of each session.

The program traces a reach spanning from the molecular events transforming pre-neoplastic cells into malignant populations over state-of-the-art and novel treatments to supportive care issues. During the meeting we hope you will be able to feel the excitement that currently surrounds basic and clinical myeloma research. Never before has so much progress been made in understanding the biology of the disease and in improving the management of patients affected by this often incurable disease. Yet the pendulum is slowly, but surely swinging in the direction of significantly improving survival and slowly improving cure rates.

We invite you to be a part of this stimulating event, figure out how your colleagues handle difficult situations and seek out answers to open questions, or feel free to just enjoy the wealth of information to be provided during this one and a half day event.

We hope that you will participate in the forthcoming 24th EMMA-Post IMW 2021 virtual meeting, and above all, that you will feel that it was highly informative and helpful for your clinical practice.

Chairmen of the meeting
